The "Timed Stop BitSwitch" Is the simplest of all the BitSwitch products. It can be used as a stand-alone device for simply slowing a train to a stop at a " Station" or it can be used in conjunction with other BitSwitch Products. Installation requires isolating both rails in the "braking area" and a track contact at a position that will allow the train being stopped to be contained entirely inside this segment. There is a slotted screw potentiometer located on the corner of the circuit board and this adjustment option will allow the braking timing to be adjusted from 0 to 120 seconds.

Signal Generator is REQUIRED. If used as a stand alone device the "Timed Stop BitSwitch" can be used for traffic moving in either direction when using the "Set Speed Zero Packet Generator". When the "DC Brake Generator" is used some decoders (i.e. LGB) may only brake in one direction. A Trolley circuit with any number of stops can be operated using only one Timed Stop BitSwitch as shown below. The Trolley will stop at each location for the time delay set.
The Timed Stop can also be combined with other BitSwitches to provide a timed stop at any block that is also controlled by a BitSwitch for collision purposes. In this configuration the timed stop takes precedence and will stop the train even when there is no traffic conflict.
