John Lanehart N-Scale layout.

The roadbed track and controls for this layout were completed May 2002

This N-Scale Layout has controls designed to allow independent operation of 4 separate lines. Two of the lines the Red and Black have Stations and passenger loading platforms.  Two lines the Green and the Blue pass through the station area but are operated as passing lines.

Each line can be operated in the normal DCC control fashion or can be set to operate in the Automatic Mode.

The Red and Black line can operate 2-6 trains in the Automatic Mode (4 trains is the optimal).  As the the trains either line enter the station area they are alternately diverted to one side or the other of a passenger loading platform.  When the station is empty the first train entering is stopped at the loading platform and held there until the following train enters the station and is routed to the other side of the platform.  When the second train arrives and stops the first train is released to the main line.   When the first train clears the next forward control section of the line the second train is released clearing the station.  During the Automatic Mode of operation CAB commands may be sent to any train to adjust speed or turn on lights etc.

The Green and Blue Lines are divided in to 5 control sections and can operate 1-4 trains in the Automatic Mode (3 trains is optimal).  As the trains operate on either line they are slowed, stopped or released as traffic allows.  During the Automatic Mode of operation CAB commands may be sent to any train to adjust speed or turn on lights etc.

Fred:

I am writing in order to express my great satisfaction with my N-scale layout now being controlled completely with your DCC-BitSwitch system. From the submittal of my layout plan to the complete installation of the system, the whole process has been an enjoyable hobby experience.

Through out the installation your prompt response by phone and email has provided me with complete and detailed assembly instructions. You have communicated with skill and good cheer; and in this respect you’ve been a joy to work with.

I never thought when I found this layout with four main lines; two lines divided into four stations that I would be able to run eight trains without any risk of collisions.

Thanks again for a great product.
